Day 1, Sunday April 29, 2012

We started traveling on the 28th (there's Kimberley in the Edmonton departure lounge). We flew to Toronto, then on to Paris, arriving on the morning of the 29th.

Kimberley had arranged for us to be picked up by a driver, who took us to La Belle Juliette, a boutique hotel south of the Seine and close to all the central attractions. Ignoring jet lag, we immediately set out to explore the city. The first thing we ran into was the morning market out on Raspail Blvd. The first thing that struck us was all the cheese!

We walked around south of the Seine.

We were both feeling a little rough...but what the heck...we were in Paris!

The graffiti in Paris is pretty classy.

That evening, we walked around for a long time looking for the right place to eat. In the end, we just got so hungry, we stopped at a place with a table. This was the Cafe St. Benoit, and it was excellent. I had scallops with pesto risotto. So delicious.

And the bed back at the hotel was fantastic. So comfortable!
