Day 13, Friday May 11, 2012

In the morning before we left Carcassonne, we took an early walk around the city between the inner and outer walls. This area is called the lice.

Anyway, it was a very quiet and beautiful morning.

We then did another significant drive...this time getting all the way into Spain. We made our way to a country house called Mas Vilalonga Petit, which is near Girona, north of Barcelona. We spent the afternoon in the sun and visited the property's horses before heading in for dinner.

The room here was one of the nicest we had during the whole trip. It was spacious, had a great bathroom, and was kept immaculately clean.

For dinner I had some really nice pan-fried whitefish with salt and paprika. Today I also took a crash course in Spanish with Daniel Torres over email. We were also able to get through the communication barrier with Google Translator on Kimberley's iPad.

It was weird, as we went from the crowds and rushing around France to almost a full stop in Spain. It was so peaceful here. Frogs and birds.
