First up is our European adventure: end of April to early June, 2012. Six weeks abroad.
A couple of things...
- Kimberley and I left Edmonton on Saturday, April 28th, and returned on Saturday, June 9th, 2012.
- We arrived in Paris and after a few days, rented a car. We drove through France, into Spain, and then across southern France into Italy. Wound up putting about 5500 KM on the rental.
- I wanted to drive the trip because of many years watching the Tour de France...the countryside looked awesome, and I wanted to see the towns, hills and rivers from the cyclist's point of view.
- The major areas we hit over the six weeks were:
- Paris
- Normandy
- Loire Valley
- Dordogne Valley
- Carcassonne
- Priorat county, Catalonia
- Provence
- Genoa
- Firenze
- Tuscany
- Rome
- We love to cook...we took cooking lessons in Priorat and Tuscany.
- Favorite locations: Tuscany, Normandy and Priorat.
Now, on to the travelogue.
