Day 5, Thursday May 3, 2012

We left Paris today...a city which is simply composed of flower shops, chocolate stores, cafes and museums. Awesome place.

Our first stop was the train station, where we picked up our rental for the trip. This was a Skoda Yeti...and it turned out to be a great car that got us all the way to the end without any trouble.

We were headed to Normandy today, but we stopped at Giverny along the way. This is were Monet painted many of his masterpieces. The highlight was visiting his water garden, where his Water Lilies paintings were created.

The place is quite magical.

In the afternoon, we hit Normandy and found Le Mas Normand, the B&B where we stayed in Ver-sur-Mer. We rented out the gypsy roulette, or caravan at the back of the property. It was lovely.

Ver-sur-Mer is located on the east end of Gold Beach. Here was our view towards Juno Beach to the east of the town.

In the evening we drove to Courseulles-sur-Mer and had dinner at Cafe Europe.
